Nicole Campbell

Nicole Campbell is an award-winning theatrical lighting designer, technician, and producer. Since graduating in 2008 from Christopher Newport University with a B.A. in Theatrical Production and Design, she has designed over 40 full-stage theatrical experiences. Nicole has helped produce several Central Virginia premieres such as Disney Theatrical’s Tarzan, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She has been a lighting technician for Disney Theatrical’s The Lion King, Little Big Town, PBS Wild Kratts, Waitress, and CNN during the Democratic National Debate.

 

Since Covid-19, Nicole Campbell has added virtual events to her resume, paving the way for her colleagues and fellow theatrical technicians to continue to create meaningful art. She has worked with companies like DoorDash to create an amazing 20-room Zoom experience for their employees. Recently, she was a backstage manager for a fundraiser for LEAP, a small non-profit in New Haven, where they witnessed $30,000 raised in less than 5 minutes! Nicole has also begun working on hybrid event experiences, which involve production, broadcast, and lighting design! Her background in production and events management has created an easy transition to virtual events.
